The Bid Manager is responsible managing the entire proposal process for complex proposals to meet proposal delivery deadlines. The Bid Manager facilitates the preparation of high quality, professional business proposals in response to major opportunities managing bids and proposals from customer’s initial interest to the handover of the awarded project to the execution team. The Bid Manager acts as the project manager and single point of contact - working with Sr. Bid Managers, sales, product and all other corporate groups - to provide coordination of proposals, and to manage the bidding process from initial RFx receipt until bid submission. This is a highly networked role that requires your ability to work under pressure, to meet challenging deadlines, and to apply strong people management and commercial skills.

 

Job Duties/Responsibilities

The Bid Manager is expected to:

  • Work with Bid and Proposal teams to develop and prepare high-quality, compliant proposals.
  • Analyze solicitation / RFI / / RFQ / RFP (RFx) documents and develop compliance matrices, outlines and templates that adhere to solicitation / RFP requirements.
  • Work with Business Development, Bid and Proposal teams to develop compliant, compelling and accurate proposal sections. May also serve as main point-of-contact for assigned clients/prospects.
  • Develop proposal schedule, identify roles and responsibilities of proposal personnel resources, ensure proposal teams adhere to style convention guidelines.
  • Conduct quality control checks and review written sections to ensure accuracy and compliance with requirements.
  • Schedule and lead bid kick-off meetings, assign responsibilities to the team members, and follow up to ensure they’re complete
  • Allocate proposal sections to various managers; solicit questions from the team and compile question list for transmittal to the requestor.
  • Elevate proposal resource, compliance, and schedule issues ahead of deadlines.
  • Schedule and facilitate proposal team meetings. Meeting periodicity is based upon the proposal schedule, complexity, and the needs of the Bid Team.
  • Oversee and manage proposal production processes
  • Support special projects and complete other responsibilities associated with the position such as event planning, preparation of marketing or business development materials.

Desired Qualifications:

Secret clearance or ability to submit for Secret clearance with ability to upgrade to TS/SCI

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or above with minimum of 5 years of related experience in proposal preparation.
  • Must have experience reading and analyzing government requests for proposal (RFPs) and requests for quotation (RFQs). Experience with Department of Defense  proposal writing a plus
  • Must have graphics design experience; editing, formatting, and desktop publishing experience.
  • Candidate needs to possess exceptional organizational abilities to manage simultaneously occurring tasks.
  • Interpersonal, communication, team-building, and attention to detail are critical skills.
  • Expert knowledge of MS Office is essential.
  • Must be able to work unpredictable schedules including weekends and holidays when needed.

 

Base salary range: $75,500 - $100,600 commensurate with experience.
